Vote For Robert Peacock

My Bio

Growing up in Cloquet is to love Cloquet. This is the community that shaped me, the place where I chose to raise my children, and the town where I am so proud to now be a grandpa. I am running because I want to be a strong voice for everyone in our city. I believe that when we stand together, we can achieve great things and leave an even better Cloquet for our next generation. This is our home, and by working together, we can ensure that the future we build is one we can all be proud of.

My Key Issues

Job growth

Cloquet is a proud city built on the foundation of hardworking union labor. Thanks to great local organizations like Sappi and USG, that strong work ethic is still the heartbeat of our community. We have also felt the pain of losing businesses like Diamond Brands, which cost our neighbors their livelihoods. We cannot afford to let our local economy drift. If elected, I will make sure Cloquet is a city relentlessly focused on job growth. I will work to support our existing employers and bring new opportunities here, because our families deserve stable, good-paying jobs right here at home. Let’s build a stronger future together.

Safe Streets

As we look to the future of Cloquet, one of my top priorities is keeping our streets safe. To do that, we must ensure our city is competitive so we can hire additional police officers. The officers who protect us are more than just a security force—they are our friends, our neighbors, and dedicated public servants who serve our community well. If we want them to protect our families, we need to support theirs. I am committed to making Cloquet a welcoming home for our law enforcement by offering the competitive salaries and community support that make them want to settle down, raise their families, and truly make Cloquet their home.

Ban Flock Cameras

When we look across the country, we are seeing an overwhelming response from people standing up against Flock AI cameras in their neighborhoods. I believe our community should be a place where every single one of us can feel genuinely safe, secure, and comfortable going about our daily lives. That is why I support blocking Flock cameras from our local streets. Our peace of mind matters, and we deserve to live in a neighborhood where our comfort and privacy are respected. If you elect me, I will work to keep these cameras out of our community, ensuring our home remains a welcoming and comfortable place for all of us.

Data Center Moratorium

I believe our city should follow in the footsteps of Carlton County and support a data center moratorium. This is a straightforward, common-sense step. Before we make big decisions, we simply need to have better, more complete information on how these projects impact our local environment. Our community deserves to have all the facts first. By taking this step, we can ensure we are looking out for our environment and making the best decisions for Cloquet.

Union Proud

Cloquet is a city built by union labor. Our buildings, our streets, and our community's very foundation were shaped by the hard work of organized labor. That is why we must address what happened in 2023, when the City overturned our PLA Ordinance. We need to recognize the vital role union workers play in our history and our daily lives. If elected, I will work to bring this issue back for a vote so we can undo that decision. It is time to restore the PLA Ordinance, show our true support for organized labor, and stand behind the working families of Cloquet.
